This is the front view of the hsopital .. A&E. The doctors told me that paramedics are not common, most of them are just "ambulance drivers". So poor people who need immediate medical care.
Behind the A&E building is the rest of the hospital.
The ECG machine is so old styled at Labour ward... Today, I took 45 minutes to take an ECG for a lady. I had to attach the peg looking things to her ankles and wrist with jelly. And then squeeze on the blue balls to attach the chest leads (they stick on by me creating a vacuum between the rubber balls and her breasts!). And then the colour wires are attached to the balls.. some of them have bad contact cos it was old. The ECG printout is not A4.. it's one big long strip, reading one lead at a time! She had to lie still for a while.
This is the fish pond just outside the entrance.
Refreshing lunch break with an ABC (It's in Malay, which stands for rock ice.. basically shaved ice) and some traditional Malay fried banana crackers and fried flour crackers recommended to me by Shazni - fellow doctor in labour ward. During this meal, I had fried rice inside an egg omelete. What I thought were beans, were green chilli. I bit into two and it burnt my mouth immediately! I furiously sucked up ice water through the straw right beside me, but funnily enough, ice water made it worse! (Apparenly, you are not suppose to drink ice water with chilli - I must take note for the future). And the ABC wasn't helping. With tears streaming down my face, and my hands holding my mouth, Shazni opened the packet of banana crackers while she laughed and I sucked on the sweet banana crackers, thankgoodness with some relief.
